Hercules

I suppose the latest snowstorm was aptly named, it definitely was a strong bugger. For awhile there yesterday, I wondered if perhaps I was going to be stuck at work for another day…but fortunately my coworkers made it in and my hubby made it to pick me up. Granted, I’m pretty sure that I have some grey hairs from the trip…but we made it home without too much drama.

Yesterday was spent doing a whole lot of nothing. In fact, from the time I got home until bed I barely got out of bed. With the snow coming down like it was, I wanted to do nothing but bunker down, read and catch up on stuff online.

Today I managed to do a little housework around the house and we went out for calzones and beer. It was really cold out but the snow had ceased and sometimes you just need to get out of the house regardless. No end to this frigid cold in sight so it may be awhile before I venture much further than right in town. So I apologize for the dullness of the blog. Maybe tomorrow I’ll break out the camera and attempt to take some pictures of the white stuff.ย

  1. I heard it was a wicked storm. We don’t live in snow country and I’m very happy about that. In fact we’ve been on our boat since Monday (returned home today) and it was beautiful out. Cool, but sunny and beautiful.

    Have a fabulous day. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Sounds to me like it would be a good day for snowshoeing. Even if you don’t go far, it’s a great way to get out of the house in winter (and take your camera). You don’t have to learn anything; you just need to sort of step widely at first so you don’t trip over your own feet. If you do decide to, and buy snowshoes, make sure they are easy to put on and take off, not just in the store, but out in the bush where you might fall over and have to get back on your feet in deep snow! Convenient harness makes all the difference. Try it, you might like it!

  3. Hercules kept my oldest and his wife here an extra day while they were visiting. I guess I should be happy for that, but the cold temps are pretty darn cold. ‘Nother storm headed this way tomorrow.

  4. Brrrr cold here too in Western New York! We’ve had a lot of snow in the last week – not as much as you though it sounds like. Temps have been the worst! Wind chills 10-20 below zero. We’re getting a little reprieve today and tomorrow, but come Monday we’re right back to it again. Ugh! Is it Spring yet? ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I’m glad you got home safely! I can’t even imagine that must snow and storm. I hope you end up having a cozy and enjoyable day despite it all. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Winter wonderland for sure! Not too far from you, though we didn’t get as much snow as I wanted to keep me out of work. And it’s way too cold to even enjoy it. I plan to make a snow fort with the next big snowfall, complete with candles for nighttime enjoyment. Aloha
